Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Indiana-Kentucky values young people. Our camps and programs are focused on a child's needs. Therefore, we seek summer staff to be terrific role models.

Camp is a safe place for children to explore and develop competencies: confidence being away from home, decision-making, building friendships, teamwork, taking on personal responsibilities, exploring faith, participating in physical activities and the creative arts. We look for a summer staff to mentor children in developing these competencies.

Summer Camp Job Opportunities


Description: Provide care and guidance of 6-10 kids each week, provide recreation options each day, lead morning Bible study and evening devotions daily, work closely with other staff members to create a high-energy, fun program.

Qualifications: Enrolled full-time in a 4 year college program with freshman year completed by Memorial Day. Enjoys working with kids and is a good role model for them. Works well in a team situation.

2019 Employment Dates: May 28 - Aug 3

Salary & Benefits: $2,400 plus housing, meals, travel reimbursement, insurance.

Support Staff

Description: Assist with preparation and clean up at meals, assist with camp maintenance routines, assist with program activities.

Qualifications: Currently a high school senior. High energy. Enjoys being around kids. Works well in a team situation.

Salary & Benefits: $1,900 plus housing, meals, insurance.

Summer Camp Volunteer Opportunity

Reading Camp Cadet

Description: Reading Camp gives tools and hope for the future to elementary school children lagging behind their peers in reading skills. Professional teachers conduct the program assisted by "cadets".

Qualifications: Older high school or college students with an interest in elementary education. Volunteers need to submit application and 4 letters of reference.
