Travel to Lutheran Hills Made Inconvenient By Road Closure.

SR 45 between Bean Blossom and Helmsburg will be closed for the summer. This will affect you if you use SR 135 to get to Lutheran Hills. This will not affect you if you use SR 45 coming from Bloomington.

Check the directions below, which reflect the changes due to this detour.

Lutheran Hills is located in southern Indiana in Brown County near Nashville and Bloomington. It has 750 acres of rolling hills, seven miles of hiking trails, and a seventeen acre lake.

From the SOUTH ...

From I-65 exit at Columbus/ Nashville/Bloomington onto Indiana SR 46 and go west to Nashville, then north on Indiana SR 135 to the stoplight in downtown Nashville. Turn left at the stoplight onto Helmsburg Road to Helmsburg. Turn left onto Indiana SR 45. See directions for EVERYONE

From the NORTH ...

Take 465 to the southwest end of Indianapolis and take Indiana SR 37 toward Bloomington to Martinsville, then Indiana SR 252 to Morgantown, then Indiana SR 135 south toward Bean Blossom. A mile before Bean Blossom just before the railroad tracks, turn right onto Railroad Road and follow to Helmsburg. See directions for EVERYONE.

Directions for EVERYONE ...

From Helmsburg continue west on Indiana SR 45. About 2 miles past Helmsburg the road takes a sharp left, but YOU DON'T. Turn right (sign posted) onto the paved road. Lutheran Hills is located 2 miles further on Bear Creek Rd. The entrance to the camp is on the right side of the road next to the manager's residence.
